Talulah Gosh

The original Talulah Gosh discography comprised five singles released between 1986 and 1988 (Beatnik Boy, Steaming Train, Talulah Gosh, Bringing Up Baby and Testcard Girl), plus one half of a flexi-disc (I Told You So) issued with two fanzines in 1986, and one track (My Boy Says) on a Shelter compilation in 1987. The first two singles were released on the same day, and also combined into one 12-inch called Steaming Train E.P. (AGARR 4/5T). Additionally, the group recorded two BBC radio sessions, for Janice Long on 30 July 1986, and John Peel on 29 December 1987.

In 1987 the singles were compiled on Rock Legends Volume 69, and in 1991 the two radio sessions were brought together on They’ve Scoffed the Lot. Both collections were themselves united in 1996 on Backwash, which also featured two live tracks (Pastels Badge and Rubber Ball). In 2011 four early recordings were issued as the Demos EP; this and everything on Backwash can now be found on Was It Just a Dream?, released in 2013. Only three things seem to be missing: two live tracks (Rubber Ball and My Best Friend) from a 1989 fanzine compilation; and a spoken count-in on Strawberry Girl.
